Resonance Zones in Action Space
نویسنده
چکیده
The classical and quantum mechanics of isolated, nonlinear resonances in integrable systems with N 2 degrees of freedom is discussed in terms of geometry in the space of action variables. Energy surfaces and frequencies are calculated and graphically presented for invariant tori inside and outside the resonance zone. The quantum mechanical eigenvalues, computed in the semiclassical WKB approximation, show a regular pattern when transformed into the action space of the associated symmetry reduced system: eigenvalues inside the resonance zone are arranged on N -dimensional cubic lattices, whereas those outside are, in general, non-periodically distributed. However, N -dimensional triclinic (skewed) lattices exist locally. Both kinds of lattices are joined smoothly across the classical separatrix surface. The statements are illustrated with the help of two and three coupled rotors. The energy-level statistics of this system are found numerically to be in very good agreement with the Poisson distribution, despite of the complex lattice structure. PACS: 03.65.Sq, 05.45.-a

متن کاملAccelerating Magnetic Resonance Imaging through Compressed Sensing Theory in the Direction space-k
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive imaging method widely used in medical diagnosis. Data in MRI are obtained line-by-line within the K-space, where there are usually a great number of such lines. For this reason, magnetic resonance imaging is slow. MRI can be accelerated through several methods such as parallel imaging and compressed sensing, where a fraction of the K-space lines...
متن کاملA Review of the Concepts of Social Action and Isolation in Virtual Space
Cyberspace and its impact as the main competitor of real space in various aspects is considered and have been studied by many thinkers and theorists. For various reasons (political, social, cultural, etc.) it is lead to the presence of people, especially young people in virtual space, as all borders crossed the behavior and influence actions of people. According to the increasing importance and...
متن کاملThe symmetric parabolic resonance
The parabolic resonance instability emerges in diverse applications ranging from optical systems to simple mechanical ones. It appears persistently in p-parameter families of near-integrable Hamiltonian systems with n degrees of freedom provided n + p 3. Here we study the simplest (n = 2, p = 1) symmetric case. The structure and the phase-space volume of the corresponding instability zones are ...
